UNIX Administrator (RedHat or SUSE)
Workplace: Wroclaw, Poland
Job description:
The Unix System Administrator will be responsible for providing 2nd line support for escalate system and user problems. Will report to Regional Manager and work within a team of experienced engineers.
Main tasks:
• Implement user and infrastructure change requests as required.
• To liaise with hardware vendors and service providers on operational issues, technical solutions and strategies in line with Global initiatives
• To provide control, manageability and integrity of the environment to maximise service availability to the users
• reports and process controls as required by the Regional UNIX manager
• To assist in the design, testing and implementation stages of UNIX projects in Europe
• To suggest and implement technical solutions that ensure control, manageability and integrity of the environment to maximise service availability to the users
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master degree in computer science
• 2 years experience within a large Unix environment (SUSE or Redhat preferred)
• Experience in Solaris 10 Systems Administration
• Knowledge about following technologies: Solstice Disk Suite, Veritas Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Server, NIS
• TCP/IP Networking (Working knowledge)
• Storage technologies (EMC, Clariion, 3PAR, Netapps), Powerpath and DMP (Working knowledge)
• Very good English
